To empty the dirt canister on the Hoover UH72400 Steerable Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the vacuum cleaner and unplug it from the power source.
2. Locate the dirt canister at the front of the vacuum cleaner, just above the floor nozzle.
3. Press the release latch located on the front of the dirt canister handle.
4. Lift the dirt canister handle to remove it from the vacuum cleaner.
5. Take the dirt canister to a trash bin or bag.
6. Press the release button on the bottom of the dirt canister to open the bottom lid.
7. Hold the dirt canister over the trash bin or bag and shake it gently to empty the dirt and debris.
8. Close the bottom lid of the dirt canister by pressing it firmly until it clicks into place.
9. Align the dirt canister with the vacuum cleaner and slide it back into position.
10. Ensure that the dirt canister is securely locked in place by pushing it down until it clicks.
