To clean the filter on your Dirt Devil SD20010 Versa Clean Bagless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the vacuum cleaner and unplug it from the power source.
2. Press the dirt cup release button and pivot the nozzle away from the unit.
3. Hold the dirt cup over a waste basket and gently pull out the filter.
4. Shake off any excess dirt and debris from the dirt cup. You can also use a brush to remove dust and dirt from the filter, or shake the filter inside a wastebasket.
5. Rinse the filter under running water. Do not use soap or detergent.
6. Tap out any excess water from the filter and allow it to completely dry for at least 24 hours.
7. Once the filter is dry, gently push it back into the dirt cup.
8. Align the bottom of the dirt cup first and pivot it until it snaps into place.
It is recommended to clean the filter after each use or after large pickups when the unit becomes full. For best performance, it is also recommended to replace the filter every 6 months.
