To install the Hunter 19468, 19469 River Mill Light fixture, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box associated with the wall switch location to avoid electrical shock.
2. Ensure that the lighting fixture is grounded. If the ground wire is not present, consult a qualified electrician before proceeding.
3. Familiarize yourself with national and local electrical codes ANSI/NFPA 70 and ensure that all wiring is done in accordance with these codes. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
4. Gather the necessary tools, including the Hardware Service Kit and the glass.
5. Carefully remove all contents from the carton and shut off the power at the circuit breaker.
6. Completely remove the old fixture, including the old mounting bracket.
7. Remove the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag and remove the cap nuts from the mounting screws.
8. Place the mounting plate over the junction box, ensuring that the mounting screws and nuts extend away from the wall. Adjust the position of the mounting screws if needed to allow the backplate to be flush with the wall.
9. Once the ideal position of the mounting screws has been confirmed, tighten the nuts on the front of the mounting plate to secure the mounting screws.
10. Pull the house wires through the center of the mounting plate and secure the mounting plate to the junction box by tightening the screws.
11. Have a helper support the fixture's weight while completing the wiring.
12. Connect the fixture's wires to the power supply wires from the junction box, matching black to black, white to white, and grounding to grounding.
13. Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector.
14. Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding xxxx and tighten. If there is no ground wire from the junction box, contact a qualified electrician.
15. Place the fixture's backplate over the mounting screws and tightly xxxx the cap nuts onto the mounting screws until the backplate is snug against the wall.
16. Lift the glass and align the notches with the tabs in the lamp cup. Attach the glass by lifting and turning clockwise one third of a full turn until it stops.
17. Install a light bulb (not included) according to the fixture's specifications, ensuring not to exceed the recommended wattage.
18. Turn on the power and test the fixture. Your installation is now complete.
