To set up your Kidde 60WLDR-W Smart Water Leak Freeze Detector with Amazon Alexa, follow these steps:
1. Install the Kidde app from the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code shown in Step 1 of the Quick Start Guide included with your Wi-Fi device.
2. Open the Kidde app and create and activate your account.
3. Tap "Add a device" and select the appropriate Kidde Wi-Fi device.
4. Follow the in-app steps to set up and connect your Wi-Fi device to the app.
5. After the setup is complete, open the Kidde app and click on "Account".
6. Scroll down to "SMART HOME INTEGRATIONS" and select the Alexa toggle button.
7. Close the Kidde app and open the Alexa app.
8. In the Alexa app, click on "More" and then "Skills & games".
9. Click the magnifying glass and search for "Kidde Alarm".
10. Click on "Kidde Alarm" and then click on "Launch".
11. Once enabled, log in with your Kidde app username and password.
You're all set to use your Kidde Wi-Fi device through Alexa. Just say "Alexa..." followed by the desired command. Please note that according to UL standards, Test and Smart Hush™ features are not available using voice assistants.
Example commands you can use with Alexa:
- "Alexa, ask Kidde alarm if I have any water leaks."
- "Alexa, ask Kidde alarm if I have any water leaks in the basement."
- "Alexa, ask Kidde alarm about my freeze status."
- "Alexa, ask Kidde alarm about freeze status in the basement."
