To install the LUTRON HRST Series RadioRA 3 Sunnata Smart Light Switch, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker before starting the installation to avoid electric shock.
2. Determine the load type and derating requirements based on the type of lighting or motor load you will be using with the switch. Make sure to meet the minimum load requirements.
3. Note that the switch requires a neutral wire for all load types.
4. Install the switch in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.
5. If there is no grounding means in the wall box, you can install the switch without a grounding connection as long as you use a plastic, noncombustible wall plate. Twist a wire connector onto the green ground wire or remove the green ground wire on the switch and use an appropriate wall plate.
6. Protect the switch from dust and dirt when painting or spackling the wall.
7. The switch is not compatible with standard 3-way or 4-way switches. Use only with Lutron companion switches listed in the manual.
8. In a 3-way or 4-way circuit, use only one switch with up to 4 companion switches.
9. The maximum wire length between the switch and the farthest companion switch is 150 ft (45 m).
10. The switch operates between 32 °F and 104 °F (0 °C and 40 °C). It is normal for the switch to feel warm during operation.
11. Clean the switch with a soft damp cloth only, without using any chemical cleaners.
12. The switch is for indoor use only.
