To measure AC current using the Greenlee CMF Series Flex Clamp Meter, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect all power supplies from the device before measurement. When measuring uninsulated conductors, do not power on the wire to be tested until the meter has safely clamped the wire.
2. Turn off the clamp as well as the conductor being measured.
3. Unlock the clamp by turning the Clamp Lock xxxx counter-clockwise.
4. Use the measuring head to wrap around the conductor to be measured and lock it in place. Only one wire can be tested at a time.
5. Turn on the clamp and adjust the slider to measure current.
6. Turn on the conductor to be measured.
7. Read the value displayed on the LCD. If the current to be measured is over the range, "OL" will appear on the LCD. Please select the appropriate range (30.00A/300.0A/3000A).
It is important to follow these steps and avoid improper operations such as testing more than one conductor at a time, twisting, bending, or wrapping the coil of the CMF-110/118, or pulling on or applying force to the coil. These actions can result in incorrect measurements or damage to the unit.
