To set up the ASUS XD5 AX3000 Dual Band WiFi Router as an AiMesh system, follow these steps:
1. Place your ZenWiFi XD5 routers within 3 meters of each other during the setup process.
2. Connect your modem to the WAN port of one ZenWiFi XD5 router using a network cable. This router will be the AiMesh router, and the other two routers will be the AiMesh nodes.
3. Power on all three ZenWiFi XD5 routers. The LED on each router should turn solid blue, indicating they are ready for setup.
4. Download the free ASUS Router App on your mobile device.
5. Launch the ASUS Router App and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the AiMesh setup.
6. During the setup process, make sure to keep your AiMesh nodes powered on and in standby mode for AiMesh system settings.
If your AiMesh router cannot find any AiMesh nodes nearby or synchronization fails, try the following troubleshooting steps:
a. Move your AiMesh nodes closer to the AiMesh router, ideally within 3 meters.
b. Ensure that your AiMesh nodes are powered on.
For the best performance, it is recommended to locate the AiMesh router and nodes in an open or spacious location. Keep them away from devices that may cause interference, such as cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, and microwave ovens.
