To configure Client Matter Codes (CMCs) and Forced Authorization Codes (FACs) on your Cisco Unified IP Phones, follow these steps:
1. Add Client Matter Codes:
- From Cisco Unified CM Administration, go to Call Routing > Client Matter Codes.
- Click on "Add New".
- Enter a unique code of up to 16 digits in the Client Matter Code field.
- Optionally, enter a client name in the Description field.
- Click "Save".
2. Enable Client Matter Codes:
- From Cisco Unified CM Administration, go to Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route Pattern.
- Either update an existing route pattern or create a new one.
- In the Route Pattern Configuration window, check the "Require Client Matter Code" checkbox.
- Click "Save".
3. Add Forced Authorization Codes:
- From Cisco Unified CM Administration, go to Call Routing > Forced Authorization Codes.
- Click on "Add New".
- Enter a unique name of up to 50 characters in the Authorization Code Name field.
- Enter a unique authorization code of up to 16 digits in the Authorization Code field.
- Enter a three-digit authorization level in the Authorization Level field (0 to 255).
- Click "Save".
4. Enable Forced Authorization Codes:
- From Cisco Unified CM Administration, go to Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route Pattern.
- Either update an existing route pattern or create a new one.
- In the Route Pattern Configuration window, check the "Require Forced Authorization Code" checkbox.
- Enter the desired authorization level value (0 to 255) in the Authorization Level field.
- Click "Save".
Note: It is important to review the prerequisites mentioned in the user guide before configuring CMCs and FACs. Additionally, make sure to limit the number of CMCs to a maximum of 60,000 to avoid significant delays in system startup.
