To connect your MG7550 to your cable Internet service, follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have subscribed to cable Internet service from your cable service provider.
2. Connect a "live" coax cable to the modem's COAX connector. You can connect it to a coax wall jack or use a coax splitter if you want to share the cable with a TV.
3. Connect the supplied power cube between the power jack on the MG7550 and an electrical outlet.
4. Power up your MG7550 by turning on the On/Off button. Wait for the green online connection light to stop flashing and remain solidly lit. This may take up to 15 minutes.
5. Once your MG7550 is powered up and connected, you can activate it by calling your cable service provider or by opening the web browser of a computer or Wi-Fi device connected to the MG7550's Ethernet ports. If using a Wi-Fi device, you'll need the unique Wireless Network Name and Password printed on the bottom of your MG7550.
6. Follow the activation instructions provided by your cable service provider. This may involve providing your account number and other setup information.
7. After activation, your service provider will provision your MG7550 service, which typically takes less than 5 minutes. Once the provisioning is complete, you should be able to browse the web using a device connected to the MG7550.
