To install the GRACO Contender 65/ Admiral 65 Convertible Car Seat, please follow the instructions provided in the instruction manual. Here is a general overview of the installation process:
1. Choose the appropriate mode (rear-facing or forward-facing) based on your child's age, weight, and height.
2. Position the car seat in the desired seating position in your vehicle. Make sure the car seat is placed securely and does not move more than 1 inch in any direction.
3. If using the LATCH system, locate the LATCH anchors in your vehicle. Attach the lower anchor connectors on the car seat to the LATCH anchors in your vehicle. Tighten the straps until the car seat is secure.
4. If using the vehicle seat belt, thread the seat belt through the belt path on the car seat. Buckle the seat belt and make sure it is locked securely. Remove any slack from the seat belt.
5. Adjust the recline angle of the car seat according to the instructions in the manual. Ensure that the car seat is reclined at the appropriate angle for your child's age and weight.
6. Secure your child in the car seat using the harness system. Adjust the harness straps to fit snugly around your child's shoulders. The chest clip should be positioned at armpit level.
7. Double-check that the car seat is installed correctly by giving it a firm tug at the base. It should not move more than 1 inch in any direction.
