To install the Wilo-Star-Z 15 Bronze Hot Water Circulator Pump, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the pump is disconnected from the power supply before starting the installation.
2. Choose a suitable installation site that is weatherproof, frost-free, dust-free, and well-ventilated. It should also be easily accessible.
3. Flush the pipe system before installation to remove any dirt that could cause pump failure.
4. If you have the Star-Z 15 C, Star-Z 15 A, or Star-Z 15 APress versions, the stop valve and non-return valve are pre-installed. For the Star-Z 15 version, you will need to install these valves.
5. Prepare the installation site to minimize mechanical stresses on the pump.
6. Install the pump in the correct position as indicated by the arrow on the back of the housing, which shows the direction of flow.
7. Release the cap nut and unscrew it completely if necessary. Be careful not to damage the housing seal and replace any damaged seals.
8. Turn the motor head so that the cable xxxx connection points downwards. This is important to prevent water from penetrating and damaging the pump.
9. Tighten the cap nut securely.
10. If you have the Star-Z 15 C, Star-Z 15 A, or Star-Z 15 APress versions, turn the slot with a screwdriver so that it is parallel to the direction of flow.
11. Fit the thermal insulation shell provided.
12. Connect the pipework, ensuring that you follow the instructions for the specific version of the pump you have.
13. For electrical connections, only a qualified electrician should work on the electrical connection. Install a permanent connecting cable with a plug device or all-pole switch. Follow the instructions in the manual for stripping and securing the cable cores.
14. Fill the system with water.
15. The pump rotor space will vent automatically after a short time in operation. The pump can run dry briefly without being damaged.
