Yes, you can use a different power source for the light kit, but please ensure that the maximum voltage is 6V. The light kit is designed to be connected to the battery box, but if you prefer to use another power source, make sure it does not exceed the maximum voltage limit to avoid damaging the lights or other components of the kit.
