To install the batteries in the AcuRite Wireless Weather Thermometer, follow these steps:
1. Slide off the battery compartment cover on the back of the display unit and the outdoor sensor.
2. Insert 2 x AAA batteries into the display unit first, following the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment.
3. Insert 2 x AAA batteries into the outdoor sensor next, following the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment.
4. Replace the battery covers on both units.
Please note that AcuRite recommends using high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance. Heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries are not recommended. In low-temperature conditions below -4°F, the outdoor sensor requires lithium batteries instead of alkaline batteries.
Remember to dispose of old or defective batteries in an environmentally safe way, following your local laws and regulations. Do not incinerate used batteries or dispose of them in fire, as they may explode or leak. It is also important not to mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries (alkaline/standard) and to avoid using rechargeable batteries or short-circuiting the supply terminals.
For more information and safety guidelines, please refer to the instruction manual provided with the product.
