To turn on the GE 76986LO Candle Battery Operated Christmas Decor Lantern, follow these steps:
1. Locate the switch on the bottom of the lantern.
2. Slide the switch to the "ON" position.
3. The lantern should now light up and start functioning.
If the lantern does not light up, please check the following:
1. Ensure that the batteries are installed correctly. Refer to the battery installation procedure shown in Figure 2 of the instruction manual.
2. Make sure the batteries have enough power or replace them with new ones.

It is important to note that the "TRY-ME" feature is only intended for in-store demonstration purposes. During normal operation, remove the "TRY-ME" wire and insert the batteries into the battery compartment as instructed in the manual.
