To set up the VIVOSUN Z-001 Indoor Outdoor Thermometer, follow these steps:
1. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit and insert four AAA batteries (included). Make sure to match the polarity (+/-) correctly.
2. Place the Main Unit: Decide where you want to place the main unit indoors. It can be placed on a tabletop or mounted on a wall. Ensure that it is within the wireless range of the outdoor sensor.
3. Set Up the Outdoor Sensor: Install the batteries (included) in the outdoor sensor. The outdoor sensor should be placed in an area where it can accurately measure the outdoor temperature and humidity. Avoid direct sunlight and ensure proper ventilation.
4. Pair the Main Unit and Outdoor Sensor: Press and hold the CH button on the main unit for 3 seconds until the CH1/CH2/CH3 icons start flashing. Then, press and hold the CH button on the outdoor sensor for 3 seconds until the CH1/CH2/CH3 icons stop flashing. The main unit will display the temperature and humidity readings from the outdoor sensor once the pairing is successful.
5. Adjust Sensor Placement: If you have multiple outdoor sensors, you can adjust the CH1/CH2/CH3 settings on the main unit to match the corresponding sensor. This allows you to monitor different areas separately.
6. Read the Temperature and Humidity: The main unit's large LCD screen displays the indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity readings. The temperature trend arrows indicate whether the temperature is rising or falling. The backlight can be turned on or off for easy reading in different lighting conditions.
