To install the PRO T751 Thermostat, follow these steps:
1. Choose an installation location that is approximately 4 to 5 feet above the floor, with average temperature and good air circulation.
2. Ensure that the thermostat is not installed in locations close to hot or cold air ducts, in direct sunlight, with an outside wall behind it, in areas that do not require conditioning, in areas with dead spots or drafts, or where there might be concealed chimneys or pipes.
3. Make sure to disconnect the power before beginning the installation to avoid electrical shock or equipment damage.
4. Align the 4 tabs on the subbase with the corresponding slots on the back of the thermostat, then push gently until the thermostat snaps in place.
5. Battery installation is optional if the thermostat is hardwired. If you choose to install batteries, use high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance.
6. If you need to remove the private label badge, gently slide a screwdriver into the bottom edge of the badge and turn it counterclockwise. The badge should pry off easily.
7. Familiarize yourself with the thermostat's LCD display, glow in the dark light button, fan button, system button, temperature setpoint buttons, and private label badge.
8. The thermostat displays the current room temperature, selected setpoint temperature, system operation indicators, low battery indicator, globe for energy-efficient temperature, fan setting, and stages of heat or cool.
9. The low battery indicator will be displayed when the batteries are low. If the batteries are not replaced within 21 days, the setpoints will change to 55˚F (Heating) and 85˚F (Cooling). After day 63, the batteries must be replaced immediately to avoid freezing or overheating.
10. If you are replacing a thermostat, make note of the terminal connections on the old thermostat. Loosen the terminal block screws on the PRO T751, insert the wires, and retighten the screws.
11. The C (common wire) terminal does not have to be connected if the thermostat is powered by batteries.
12. Use shielded or non-shielded 18-22 gauge thermostat wire for wiring.
13. Customize the temperature swing setting according to your preference.
14. The thermostat has a display range of 41˚F to 95˚F, a control range of 44˚F to 90˚F, and a load rating of 1 amp per terminal, with a maximum of 1.5 amps for all terminals combined.
15. The power source can be 18 to 30 VAC for hardwire or 2 AA alkaline batteries.
16. The operating ambient temperature range is 32˚F to +105˚F, and the operating humidity should not exceed 90% non-condensing.
17. The dimensions of the thermostat are 4.7” W x 4.3” H x 0.9” D.
