1. Installation:
- The device must be installed and assembled by a qualified electrician in accordance with the relevant installation standards and safety regulations.
- The EER503 can be installed in a cavity, while the EER513 can be surface-mounted or installed on mounting boxes according to the valid standard.
- Select an installation location that is free of vibration and avoid sources of interference in the detection area.
- The motion detector must be installed horizontally on the ceiling, with a detection angle of 360°.
- The diameter of the detection area depends on the installation height, with an approximate diameter of 20m at ground level for an installation height of 2.5m.
- Ensure that areas with less motion activity (e.g., desk, seating area) are within the detection area.
2. Electrical Connection:
- Before working on the device, isolate all power and cover any live parts in the area to avoid electrical shock.
- Follow the provided connection diagrams for the built-in (EER503) or surface-mounted (EER513) variant.
- Use the appropriate mounting devices and cable ties for strain relief.
- Ensure that the device is completely installed and closed to comply with the degree of protection IP41.
3. Commissioning:
- After connecting the power, the device will enter a warm-up phase for up to 45 seconds, indicated by a flashing green status LED.
- If the device is set to slave mode, the status LED will flash alternatingly red and green, and the relay will be open.
- Test the detection by setting the potentiometer light level to the Test position and the delay time potentiometer to the minimal position.
- Move within the detection area to check if the motion detector switches on. If it switches on without motion, there may be sources of interference present.
- After 15 minutes in test mode, the device will automatically set to the standard values.
4. Setting Response Brightness and Delay Time:
- The light level potentiometer allows you to set the brightness threshold for switching on the connected load when motion is detected.
- The delay time potentiometer sets the period for which the lighting is switched on when the light level is undershot and motion is detected.
- Turn the respective potentiometer to the desired position.
5. Master-Slave Operation:
- To extend the detection area, additional devices (slave) can be connected in parallel to the master.
- Set the response brightness and delay time on the master device.
- On the slave device, set the potentiometer response brightness to the SL position and adjust the delay time to suit the application case.
