To install the Apollo RW1000-600APO Optical Smoke Detector, follow these steps:

1. Start by removing the dust cover from the detector, which is meant to protect it during shipping.
2. Twist the detector anticlockwise to remove it from the mounting base.
3. There is a plastic pop-out tag on the base that can be removed to label the address of the detector before fixing it to the ceiling. Pop out the device label tag from the base and insert it into the side.
4.  xxxx  the base to the ceiling using all the provided fixing holes and appropriate-sized screws.
5. Remove the battery compartment cover on the base of the detector.
6. Ensure that the programming switch in the base of the detector is in the ON position.
7. Remove the insulating tab from the batteries, making sure they are properly placed in their lodgement.
8. The detector's LED will signal 4 times in red.
9. Move the switch in the base of the detector to position 1.
10. The detector's LED will blink green for a few seconds and then signal alternatively green and red 4 times.
11. Make sure to replace the battery cover, as it is part of the detector's anti-tamper protection, and refit the detector by twisting it clockwise into the base.
12. Secure the  xxxx  on the base using an M3 allen key to prevent unwanted removal.
