According to the Dyson 227633-01 Upright Vacuum Cleaner Owner's Guide, it is recommended to wash the filters with cold water at least every 2 months. However, if you are vacuuming fine dust or carpet cleaning powders, the filters may require more frequent washing. To clean the filters, remove them from the machine and wash them with cold water only. Do not use detergents or put the filters in a dishwasher or washing machine. After washing, squeeze and twist the filters to remove excess water and then leave them to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours before reinstalling them in the machine. Regularly cleaning the filters will help maintain the performance of your vacuum cleaner.
