To connect the eMOTUS8OD outdoor passive speaker to your amplifier, you will need to use the cable connections on the rear panel of the speaker. The speaker supports both high and low-impedance operation.
1. Start by setting the power selector switch on the rear panel to the desired position. The first four positions are for high-impedance operation (70/100V line), and the fifth position is for low-impedance operation (8Ω). Choose the appropriate position based on your setup and desired sound level.
2. If you are using high-impedance operation, select the power level on the 100V line power selector switch. The available power levels are 60W, 30W, 15W, and 7.5W. The 3.75W position is specifically for 70V line installations. If you are using a 50V installation, reduce the power levels corresponding to the 100V position by a quarter.
3. If you are using low-impedance operation, the speaker will operate at 100W RMS at 8Ω. Keep in mind the limitations of your amplifier when connecting multiple speakers to its output, especially if the impedance drops below 4Ω. Ensure that the connection cable between the amplifier outputs and the speakers is of good quality and as short as possible, especially for long distances and low-impedance setups.
Note: It is important to double-check the power selector switch position to avoid damaging the speaker. Connecting the speaker to a low-impedance amplifier with the switch in the 8Ω position or to a 100V network with the switch in an 8Ω position can cause severe damage.
