To program the EHEIM 3581090 Programmable Automatic Food Dispenser, follow these steps:
1. Start by setting the current time:
- Press the SET button. The hours will blink.
- Use the + button to set the desired hour.
- Press the MODE button. The minutes will blink.
- Use the + button to set the desired minutes.
- Press the SET button to store the current time.
2. Programming feeding times:
- Press the MODE button to cycle through the feeding times (1 to 4).
- When the desired feeding time is displayed, press the SET button. The hours will blink.
- Use the + button to set the desired hour.
- Press the MODE button. The minutes will blink.
- Use the + button to set the desired minutes.
- Press the SET button to store the feeding time.
3. Setting the feeding mode:
- The upper line of the display shows the feeding mode options.
- No arrow: The time is stored, but no feeding occurs.
- 1 arrow: The feed container rotates once.
- 2 arrows: The feed container rotates twice with a 1-minute interval.
4. Manual operation:
- To manually feed outside the programmed times, press the "EHEIM" manual feeding button.

Please ensure that you have inserted fresh alkaline batteries and that they are properly installed. If the device does not start, stops unexpectedly, or does not run at all, it may indicate that the batteries are empty or inserted incorrectly. Try changing the batteries and ensure they are inserted correctly.
If the display is flashing, it means the device has been programmed to switch off automatically to prevent damage. Replace the batteries within one minute and follow the programming procedure again.
