To extend the coverage of your existing WiFi network using the Speedefy K7 AC2100 Smart WiFi Router, you can choose between two methods: WISP mode and Client+AP mode. Here are the steps for each method:
Method 1: Set the new router to WISP mode
1. Log in to the web UI of the router by visiting 192.168.3.1 in a web browser.
2. Connect your wireless device to the WiFi network of the new router or connect a computer to a LAN port of the router (1, 2, IPTV/3 for Speedefy K7). Do not connect any device to the WAN port of the new router.
3. Click on "Start" and then "Skip" to bypass setting login and WiFi password.
4. Go to WiFi Settings > Wireless Repeating.
5. Enable Wireless Repeating and choose WISP mode.
6. Click on "Select" to choose the existing WiFi network you want to bridge.
7. Enter the Upstream WiFi Password for the selected WiFi network.
8. Click "Save" and then "OK" to save the settings and wait for the router to reboot.
9. Log in to the web UI of the router again and navigate to Internet Status to check if the wireless repeating is successful.
10. Place the new router in an area with weak WiFi signal and power it on again.
Method 2: Set the new router to Client+AP mode
5. Enable Wireless Repeating and choose Client+AP mode.
Remember, in both methods, do not connect any device to the WAN port of the new router after setting it to WISP mode or Client+AP mode. To access the internet, connect your computer to a LAN port of the new router or connect your smartphone to the WiFi network of the new router. You can find the WiFi name and password on the WiFi Settings > WiFi Name & Password page.
If you encounter any issues, make sure that your existing router is connected to the internet successfully and that your wireless devices are connected to the correct WiFi network of the new router. Additionally, ensure that your computer is configured to obtain an IP address and DNS server automatically if it cannot access the internet when connected to the router.
