To clean the BLACK+DECKER CM0700BZ Coffeemaker, follow these steps:

1. Ensure that the coffeemaker is unplugged and cooled before cleaning.
2. Open the lid and remove the brew basket by lifting it straight up.
3. Discard the paper filter (if using) from the brew basket.
4. Wash the brew basket, permanent filter (if using), carafe, and carafe lid in warm, soapy water. You can also clean them in the dishwasher on the top rack.
5. To clean the inside of the one-piece cover, open the cover and wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth. Close the cover after cleaning.
6. If mineral deposits from hard water have built up in the coffeemaker, it is recommended to clean it with vinegar (descale) once a month.
- Pour white vinegar into the water reservoir up to the 2-cup level on the water window.
- Add cold water up to the 5-cup line.
- Place a paper filter or permanent filter in the brew basket and close the cover.
- Set an empty carafe on the Keep Hot carafe plate.
- Turn on the coffeemaker and let half of the cleaning solution brew into the carafe (until the water level goes down to around 3).
- Turn off the coffeemaker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes to soften the deposits.
- Turn on the coffeemaker and brew the remaining cleaning solution into the carafe.
- Turn off the coffeemaker, empty the carafe, and discard the soiled filter (if using).
- Fill the reservoir with cold water to the 5-cup line, replace the empty carafe, and then turn on the coffeemaker for a complete brew cycle to flush out the remaining cleaning solution. You may repeat this step to eliminate any remaining vinegar smell/taste.
7. After cleaning, wash the brew basket, permanent filter, and carafe again as instructed above.
