To set up the AT&T CL2940 Corded Phone with Speakerphone, please follow the steps below:
1. Connect the telephone line cord: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the telephone jack on the wall and the other end into the LINE jack on the back of the phone.
2. Connect the handset cord: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset jack on the side of the phone and the other end into the handset.
3. Connect the power cord: Plug one end of the power adapter into the DC IN 9V jack on the back of the phone and the other end into a standard electrical outlet.
4. Set the date and time: Press the MENU button, then use the VOLUME buttons to scroll to "Date/Time" and press the MENU button again. Use the VOLUME buttons to set the month, day, year, hour, and minute. Press the MENU button after each setting.
5. Adjust the ringer volume: Press the VOLUME buttons while the phone is idle to adjust the ringer volume. The phone has three ringer volume levels: High, Medium, and Low.
6. Test the phone: Lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button to make a test call and ensure that the phone is working properly.
