To clean the filters on the Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum with DuoClean, follow these steps:
1. Regularly rinse and replace the filters to maintain your vacuum's suction power.
2. Remove the Dust Cup by pressing the release button on top of the pod. Tilt the dust cup away from the wand, then lift to remove.
3. Press the lower release button on the dust cup to open the bottom and empty the debris into the trash.
4. To remove collected debris from the Lint Screen, press the top release button and lift the handle to open. Gently brush the lint screen to clean.
5. Clean the pre-motor filters every 3 months. Remove the filters by lifting them out of the dust cup.
6. Clean the HEPA filter once a year. Press the button at the bottom of the Filter Door, tilt the door, and lift it out to remove the HEPA filter.
7. Rinse all the filters with cold water only. DO NOT use soap when cleaning the filters.
8. Allow all filters to air-dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinstalling them to prevent liquid from being drawn into electric parts.
9. Reinstall the filters by inserting the pre-motor filters back into the dust cup and inserting the HEPA filter into the unit and replacing the filter door.
By regularly cleaning and maintaining the filters, you can ensure optimal suction power and performance from your Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum with DuoClean.
