To properly tension the Crosby Group Speedbinders Torque Drive Load Binder using a cordless drill, follow these steps:
1. Position the load binder in a location where it can be operated from the ground or a stable position. Ensure your footing is secure and be aware of any potential hazards such as ice, snow, rain, or oil.
2. Position the load binder with the short portion of the barrel close to the trailer attachment point, so the reaction bar rests against the floor of the trailer after tensioning. Alternatively, you can position the reaction bar against the object being secured.
3. Do not attempt to hold the reaction bar to prevent rotation while tensioning.
4. Use a cordless drill equipped with a 14 mm socket as a rotation tool to tighten or loosen the load binder. If a cordless drill is not available, a manual wrench or tool with a 14 mm socket can be used.
5. To tighten the load binder, rotate the 14 mm hex head clockwise using the cordless drill. To loosen, rotate the 14 mm hex head counterclockwise.
6. After tensioning, it is important to restrain the reaction bar to prevent barrel rotation and unintended loosening of the load binder.
7. Cordless drills with approximately 800 Lb.-In. maximum torque output are suitable for most load securement applications and provide adequate tensioning.
8. Never exceed the Working Load Limit of the load binder.
9. Do not use impact drivers larger than the recommended cordless drill, as they can damage the gears and over-tension the load securement system.
10. After tensioning, it should take about 15-20 pounds of force to pull the reaction bar away from the floor or secured object.
11. Chain tension may change due to load shifting during transport. Ensure the load binder remains in the proper position and retighten as required.
Please refer to the Crosby Group Speedbinders Torque Drive Load Binder instructions for additional safety information and maintenance guidelines.
