To set the Node ID and Bit Rate for the STM23C/24C Integrated CANopen Drive+Motor with Encoder, follow these steps:
1. Set the Bit Rate: The Bit Rate is set using a ten-position rotary switch. Refer to the Bit Rate table in the manual for the appropriate settings.
2. Set the Node ID: The Node ID is set using a combination of a sixteen-position rotary switch and the ST Configurator software.
a) The sixteen-position rotary switch sets the lower four bits of the Node ID. Choose the desired Node ID value by setting the rotary switch accordingly.
b) Use the ST Configurator software to set the upper three bits of the Node ID. Launch the software on your PC and connect the RS-232 programming cable between the motor and the PC. In the ST Configurator, you can configure various motor settings, including the Node ID. Enter the desired Node ID value in the software.
Note: The valid ranges for the Node ID are 0x01 through 0x7F. Node ID 0x00 is reserved as per the CiA 301 specification.
3. Capture Node ID and Bit Rate: It's important to note that the Node ID and Bit Rate settings are captured only after a power cycle or after a network reset command has been sent. Changing the switches while the drive is powered on will not change the Node ID until one of these conditions has been met.
