To install the Barkbusters Benelli TRK502 Aluminum Handguard Kit, follow these steps:
1. Start by removing the original handguards if they are already fitted on your motorcycle.
2. Loosely assemble the clamp to the handlebar using the OEM bar end weight. Make sure to follow the diagram provided.
3. Attach the handguard backbone (1) to the handlebar end and also to the clamp connector (6) using the applicable parts.
4. Position the backbone so that it is horizontal when viewed from the side.
5. Tighten all bolts in the following order: (10), (9), (4), and then (7). Use the specified torque settings mentioned in the manual.
6. Repeat the above steps for the left side with the applicable parts.
7. After installation, it is recommended to check all screws, bolts, and nuts for proper tightness after the first 50km of riding. Use the recommended torque settings mentioned in the manual.
8. It is important to maintain a working clearance of approximately 3mm between the throttle grip end and the handguard to ensure proper throttle operation. Check the operation of all handlebar controls, including the throttle, front brake, kill switch, and clutch, to ensure they are functioning correctly and according to OEM specifications.
9. Regularly check that all bolts are tight.
Please note that these instructions are a summary and it is important to refer to the detailed instructions provided in the manual for accurate installation. It is recommended to have the installation performed by a motorcycle service technician to ensure proper fitting and safety.
