To connect the STAC5 Stepper Drive to your computer, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have a personal computer running Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7/8/10/11.
2. Download and install the ST Configurator software from the Applied Motion Products website (www.applied-motion.com/products/software). If you have a -Q model, also install the Q Programmer software.
3. Launch the ST Configurator software by clicking on Start / Programs / Applied Motion Products / ST Configurator.
4. Connect the drive to your computer using a standard CAT5 network cable. Plug one end of the cable into the network port on the drive and the other end into an available network port on your computer.
5. On the STAC5 drive, select an appropriate IP address using the rotary switch. For more information on network configurations and IP addressing, please refer to the STAC5 Hardware Manual available on the Applied Motion Products website (www.applied-motion.com/support/manuals).
Once the drive is connected to your computer, you can use the ST Configurator software to configure and control the drive. The software provides various modes of operation, such as pulse & direction, analog velocity, SCL, and Q programming. You can also use the software to perform a self-test to verify the correct wiring and configuration of the motor and power supply.
