To connect the TSM23XIP Step Servo Motor to your PC for configuration, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have a PC running Microsoft Windows XP, or Windows 7/8/10/11.
2. Download the Step-Servo Quick Tuner software from the Applied Motion website at www.applied-motion.com/products/software and install it on your PC.
3. Connect the drive to the PC using the appropriate programming cable. For Ethernet models, you will need a user-supplied standard (RJ45) Ethernet cable (CAT5e or CAT6). Plug the cable into the COM1 connector on the motor for configuration.
4. For a direct connection between the PC and TSM23XIP, set the static IP address of the PC to 10.10.10.11. For more details on Ethernet connections, refer to the TSM23XIP hardware manual.
5. Make sure not to apply power until all connections to the drive have been made.
6. Open the Step-Servo Quick Tuner software on your PC.
7. Select the Ethernet port for the motor and enter the IP address.
8. Apply power to the TSM23XIP.
9. Connect to the motor using the software. For Ethernet models, click PING and ensure that a response is received before clicking Connect.
10. If your Ethernet motor does not communicate, you may need to reset the IP address to the default of 10.10.10.10. Power down the motor, then power it up with the Ethernet cable UNPLUGGED. Plug in the cable 5 seconds after power up and click Connect.
11. Click "yes" to upload the drive configuration.
12. Begin configuring the motor according to your application requirements. Refer to the software help file for detailed instructions.
13. When you are ready to test your configuration, click Download All to Drive.
