To install the Leighton Large Barrel Chandelier, follow these steps:
1. Carefully remove all parts from the box and place them on a clean, soft surface.
2. Remove the mounting plate (B) from the canopy (F) by removing the collar ring (G).
3. Install a 1/4 IPS threaded pipe, secured to a structural member of the building (not included). Then install the hex nut and threaded xxxx (W) into the receiver and tighten it with a wrench. Note that the item must be supported independently of the junction box due to its weight.
4. Install the mounting bracket (X) to the threaded xxxx (W) and secure it with a hex nut.
5. Install the mounting plate (B) to the mounting bracket (X) and secure it with screws (Y).
6. Feed the electrical wire, ground wire, and safety cable through the bottom rod (I) and connect them to the fixture body (J).
7. Continue feeding the wires through the collar ring (G), canopy (F), and top rod (H).
8. Holding the fixture upright, slide the collar ring (G) and canopy (F) down and rest them on the fixture body (J). Then connect the top rod (H) to the bottom rod (I). Slide the components down slowly to avoid damage.
9. Hang the fixture swivel ball to the center of the mounting plate (B) and secure it using the set xxxx (D) with the provided wrench (E).
10. Cut excess wires, leaving enough to reach the junction box.
11. Separate the two sides of the molded wire and strip insulation on each side by 5/8".
12. Loosen the cable lock and install it at the end of the safety cable. Run the safety cable through the junction box and around structural members of the building. Insert the cable through the cable lock and tighten the ends with a screwdriver to secure it.
13. Wrap the fixture ground wire (bare copper) around the green grounding xxxx . Tighten it. Continue the fixture ground wire and connect it to the supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) using a wire nut (A). It is imperative that the fixture is grounded.
14. Connect the fixture neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using a wire nut (A).
15. Connect the fixture hot wire (black) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using a wire nut (A). Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.
16. Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck them into the junction box.
17. Install the canopy (F) to the mounting plate (B) and secure it with the collar ring (G).
18. Install light bulbs into the sockets.
19. Thread the metal rods (K) and (P) to the center hub, then remove the finials (O) from the metal rods.
20. Attach rubber washers (L) and glass disks (M) to metal rods (K) and secure them with rubber washers (N) and finials (O).
21. Attach rubber washers (N) and glass disks (Q) to metal rods (P) and secure them with rubber washers (L) and metal rods (S).
22. Remove the finials (O) from metal rods (S).
23. Attach rubber washers (L) and glass disks (T) to metal rods (S) and secure them with rubber washers (N) and finials (O).
24. Install a glass disk (U) to the bottom of the center hub and secure it with a finial (V).
Please note that it is important to follow all applicable local installation codes and have a person familiar with the construction and operation of the chandelier install it. Inspect all items and contents carefully before installation, and do not install if any damage or defect is found. Retain all packaging material until installation is complete and approved.
