To connect and configure the Tenda W99 11AC 1200Mbps Wireless In-Wall Access Point, please follow these steps:
1. Installing the APs into the In-wall Electrical Box:
- Make note of the MAC address of each AP, which can be found after removing the front cover.
- Ensure that each in-wall electrical box has an Ethernet cable deployed.
- Remove the middle cover and front cover of the in-wall electrical box.
- Connect the Ethernet cable in the in-wall electrical box to an RJ45 connector plug, then plug it into the port of the AP on the back panel.
- Insert the AP into the in-wall electrical box and fix it using the included xxxx .
- Fix the front cover of the AP.
2. Connecting and Configuring the APs:
Scenario One: At Home
- Connect the rear port LAN of each AP to a PoE port of the PoE switch using the Ethernet cables in the in-wall electrical boxes.
- Connect your computer to a port of the PoE switch using an Ethernet cable.
- Configure your computer's network settings by right-clicking the network icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop, selecting Open Network and Sharing Center, Local Area Connection, and then Properties. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and set the IP Address to 192.168.0.X (X: 2-200) and Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0.
- Start a web browser on your computer and enter 192.168.0.254 in the address bar to log in to the web UI of the AP.
- Choose Quick Setup, customize your SSID, Security Mode (WPA2-PSK is recommended), and Key. Click Save. Repeat this step for the 5GHz band.
- Choose Network > LAN Setup and set the IP address of the AP to an unused IP address in the range of 192.168.0.201-253. Repeat this step for other APs.
Scenario Two: In a Hotel
- Connect the devices as shown in the provided figure.
- Configure your computer's network settings by right-clicking the network icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop, selecting Open Network and Sharing Center, Local Area Connection, and then Properties. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and set the IP Address to 192.168.10.X (X: 2-254) and Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0.
- Start a web browser on your computer and enter 192.168.10.1 in the address bar to log in to the web UI of the Tenda AC. The default User Name and Password are both admin (all lower-case).
- Choose Manage Policy > SSID Policy and customize your SSID, Security (WPA2-PSK is recommended), and Security Key. Click Save.
