Before finishing the FYPON K42W51 Polyurethane product, it is important to properly prepare the surface. If there are light scratches, lightly buff them. For deep scratches, fill them with a compatible filler and allow it to dry. Then, lightly sand the filled area to match the surrounding area, being careful not to remove the primer. If you are finishing a wood-grained product, you can etch in the grain to match if desired, but do not sand it.
Clean the surfaces to be finished using a clean rag dampened with water and a mild detergent if necessary. Allow the surfaces to dry completely. If there are deep grooves, compressed air can be used to blow dust out of them. Prime the surface to match the surrounding color. You can find Sherwin-Williams formulas to match FYPON primers on the right side of the manual (Figure 1).
By following these preparation steps, you will ensure a smooth and well-prepared surface for finishing the FYPON K42W51 Polyurethane product.
