To connect the Olarm PRO IDS X-Series Adapter to your alarm panel, follow these steps:
1. Locate your alarm panel: Note that the alarm panel is not the keypad. It is typically installed in a hidden location in the home such as a cupboard or basement.
2. Verify the alarm panel's firmware version: Olarm PRO only supports IDS X-Series alarm panels with firmware version 2.5 and up. You can view the firmware version via the keypad. See the end of the manual for tips on how to do this.
3. Unbox your Olarm PRO: The Olarm PRO box includes the Olarm PRO device, a connector cable, a drill hole template and LED color legend, screws and wall plugs, and an external antenna (selected models only).
4. Download the Olarm mobile app and register your device: Scan the QR code or search for "Olarm" in your App Store. Follow the app instructions to register your device.
5. Power down the alarm panel: Turn off the power to your IDS X-Series alarm panel at the mains and disconnect the battery.
6. Connect the serial cable: Connect the 4-pin side of the supplied cable to the Universal port on the Olarm PRO. Connect the 5-pin side of the cable to an Olarm PRO IDS X-Series adapter board (sold separately).
7. Connect the adapter board to the alarm panel: Wire the red 12V wire from the Olarm IDS X-Series adapter board into one of the AUX+ terminals on the alarm panel.
8. Turn the alarm panel back on: Power your IDS X-Series alarm panel on again. The Olarm PRO should light up as indicated in the manual.
