To replace the saw blades on the DEWALT DWE396 Alligator Saw, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the tool is turned off and disconnected from the power source.
2. Place the tool upside down on a flat and stable work surface.
3. Loosen the gearcase cap xxxx using the provided hex key. The gearcase cap should release and spring open.
4. With the hex key, loosen both of the blade setting screws. These screws will be held in place by xxxx clips.
5. Carefully pull the saw blade end up until it is disengaged from the Blade-Clamp-system and clear of the front guard.
6. Pull the saw blade back and out of the front guard and remove it from the bar.
7. Repeat the above steps for the other saw blade.
8. To fit the new saw blades, slide one saw blade into the blade guide slot, making sure the end with the slotted hole fits into the front guard.
9. Slide the back of the saw blade down until the threaded hole aligns with the blade setting xxxx .
10. Repeat the above step for the other saw blade.
11. Tighten both saw blade setting screws securely by pressing and turning simultaneously with the short end of the hex key.
12. Close the gearcase cap and tighten the gearcase cap xxxx .
Note: Before operation, let the saw blades run freely for approximately 20 seconds.
