To jump start a vehicle using the SEALEY RS102C 12V Roadstart Compact Jump Starter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that both the ignition of the vehicle and the Jump Starter main power switch are switched OFF before making any connections to the battery.
2. Connect the RED(+) alligator clamp of the Jump Starter to the RED(+) positive battery terminal of the vehicle.
3. Connect the BLACK(-) alligator clamp of the Jump Starter to a non-moving metal part of the engine or chassis, avoiding fuel lines.
4. Switch the Jump Starter main power switch to the ON position and leave it for approximately 5 seconds.
5. Listen for any audible beeping, which indicates an accidental reverse polarity connection or a 24V battery connection. If beeping is heard, turn off the main switch, disconnect the clamps, and reconnect them in the correct order, ensuring the polarity is correct.
6. With the Jump Starter still connected and switched on, turn the vehicle ignition and crank the engine. Do not crank the engine for more than 5 seconds at a time.
7. If the engine fails to start, wait for at least 1 minute before trying again to avoid overloading or damaging the Jump Starter or battery.
8. Once the engine is running, switch the Jump Starter main power switch to the OFF position. Disconnect the BLACK(-) Negative clamp first and return the cable to its storage position on the Jump Start unit.
9. Disconnect the RED(+) Positive clamp last and return the cable to its storage position on the Jump Starter.
10. As soon as possible, connect the Jump Starter to the supplied 240V AC 3 stage charger and recharge the unit to maintain battery life.
