To properly torque the Main Stud Nuts during installation of the GATOR msk5924 Fasteners Heavy Duty Main Stud Kit, follow these steps:
1. Clean and inspect the Studs and Nuts to ensure they are free of shipping damage and obvious defects.
2. Clean all threads in the block using a Thread Chaser to ensure they are completely clean for proper thread engagement and accurate torque reading.
3. Lubricate the threads of the Main Studs and hand-tighten them into the block. If one stud is taller, remove it, clean the threads in the block, and re-install.
4. Install the Main Stud Washers onto the Main Studs.
5. Lubricate the Main Stud threads and the top of the Main Stud Washers with Assembly Lube.
6. Lubricate the mating face and threads of the Main Stud Nuts with Assembly Lube.
7. Follow the torque specifications provided in the instructions:
- Step One: Torque the nuts to 40 ft-lbs.
- Step Two: Torque the nuts to 80 ft-lbs.
- Step Three: Torque the nuts to 125 ft-lbs.
It is important to follow the torque sequence and technique specified in the manual to ensure proper installation and prevent damage. Always use a torque wrench to achieve accurate torque values.
Please note that improper installation may result in damage or loss, and the seller disclaims any responsibility or liability for such instances. If you are unsure or lack confidence in completing the installation, it is recommended to seek professional help.
