To defrost your Accucold VT, VLT Series Commercial Manual Defrost Chest Freezer, follow these steps:
1. Remove all the stored items from the freezer and place them in another cooling device while your appliance defrosts.
2. Unplug the freezer.
3. Remove the drain plug on the floor of the freezer by pulling it straight out. During defrosting, the ice melts into the cabinet. Leave the door open.
4. Place a shallow pan outside the drain outlet to collect the defrost water.
5. Check the pan occasionally to ensure that the water does not overflow.
6. Clean and thoroughly dry the interior of the freezer.
7. Replace the drainage plug on the inside floor.
8. Close the door and plug in the freezer.
9. Reset the thermostat to the desired setting.
10. Allow several hours for the cabinet to cool down.
11. Return the food to the freezer, wiping off packages if they are covered with moisture.
Note: Do not use boiling water or sharp/metallic instruments to remove frost, as this may damage the appliance. It is recommended to use a plastic scraper for defrosting.
