To properly install the Hunter 19682, 19683 Gatz light fixture, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box associated with the wall switch location to avoid electrical shock.
2. Ensure that the lighting fixture is grounded. If the ground wire is not present at the installation site, consult a qualified electrician before proceeding.
3. Familiarize yourself with national and local electrical codes ANSI/NFPA 70 and ensure that all wiring is done in accordance with these codes. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with wiring, it is recommended to consult a qualified electrician.
4. Carefully remove all contents from the packaging and shut off the power at the circuit breaker.
5. Completely remove the old fixture from the wall, including the old mounting bracket.
6. Remove the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag and remove the cap nuts from the mounting screws.
7. Place the mounting plate over the junction box, ensuring that the mounting screws and nuts extend away from the wall.
8. Adjust the position of the mounting screws so that they can be exposed 5-6 mm after passing through the back plate to properly fit the cap nuts. This can be done by loosening or tightening the mounting screws and nuts.
9. Once the ideal position of the mounting screws has been confirmed, tighten the nuts on the front of the mounting plate to secure the mounting screws.
10. Pull the house wires through the center of the mounting plate and secure the mounting plate to the junction box by tightening the screws.
11. Have a helper support the fixture's weight while completing the wiring.
12. Attach the fixture's wires to the power supply wires from the junction box, connecting black to black (Live), white to white (grounded), and grounding to grounding (green or copper). Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector.
13. Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding xxxx and tighten. If there is no ground wire from the junction box, contact a qualified electrician.
14. Place the fixture's back plate over the mounting screws so that the threads protrude through the holes on the front of the back plate. Tighten the cap nuts onto the mounting screws until the back plate of the fixture is snugly against the wall.
15. Lift the glass and align the notches in the glass with the tabs in the lamp cup. Attach the glass by lifting and turning clockwise one third of a full turn until it stops.
16. Install a light bulb (not included) in accordance with the fixture's specifications, making sure not to exceed the recommended wattage.
17. Your installation is now complete. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
