To install and set up the Pro-Leaf CO2 Generator LP/NG, follow these steps:
1. Ensure proper ventilation: Place the generator in an area with adequate ventilation to prevent CO2 levels from becoming toxic. CO2 levels above 5000 PPM are toxic, while levels up to 1500 PPM are beneficial for plants.
2. Gas line installation: Install and connect the gas lines in compliance with local and national building codes. Consult your local authorities for specific requirements.
3. Setup the generator: Loosen the wing bolts on each side and raise the top upward. Tighten the bolts at the top limit. If placing the generator on the ground, install two stand feet.
4. Connect the gas supply: Connect the supplied hose to the gas source and the generator. Make sure the gas supply matches the CO2 generator model (LP or NG). Check for gas leaks at the connection points using soapy water.
5. Power on the generator: Plug in the 24V power supply and turn the power switch to the ON position. The green 'MAIN POWER ON' LED should illuminate.
6. Ignition process: The intelligent ignition module will attempt to ignite the burners. If the burners ignite properly and maintain a flame, the green 'MAIN VALVE ON' LED should remain illuminated. For 10 burner units, the yellow 'PILOT VALVE ON' LED indicator should also remain illuminated.
7. Initial ignition troubleshooting: If it's the first time using the unit or the LP tank has been replaced recently, the burners may not fire on the first attempt. After a 30-second pause, the generator will attempt to re-fire the burners for 15 seconds. This cycle will repeat up to 5 times.
8. Lock Out procedure: If the generator fails to ignite after the 5th attempt, it will activate the Lock Out procedure, and the red 'Lock out Error' LED will illuminate. Turn off the generator and wait for 5 minutes for the gas to dissipate. Then, turn the generator back on to try again.
9. Flame stability: The intelligent electronic ignition system has safety features to prevent the release of gas if ignition is not completed. If the flame lasts less than 5 seconds, the unit will pause for 3 seconds and attempt ignition again. After the 5th failed attempt, the generator will enter LOCK OUT mode. Restart the unit using the ON/OFF switch for one more attempt. If the flame is still not stable, the unit will enter LOCK OUT mode again. If the flames last more than 5 seconds, the LOCK OUT (ERROR) will be reset, and normal operation will resume.
10. Self-check: After one hour of continuous burn time, the unit will pause for 5 seconds to perform a self-check.
Note: For specific LED indicators and switch options, refer to the LED Indicators section in the manual. Additionally, the manual provides instructions for using the generator with LP tank or NG supply line, as well as using the metal backplate for heat protection and directing CO2 flow.
