To activate your Spytec GPS GL300 Tracker, follow these steps:
1. Locate the IMEI number: The IMEI number is a 15-character code located on the bottom of your tracker. You will need this number during the activation process.
2. Create an account: Using a computer or smartphone, go to www.spytec.com/gps-activation and click on the "Activate a new tracker" tile. Fill out the entire form and submit it. Your login details will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
3. Log into your account: Once you receive your login details, log into your account. You will see the mapping platform where your GL300 will show its location.
4. Place the tracker: It is important to place the GL300 in a location that has access to the open sky for a strong GPS signal. Avoid placing it in metal enclosures or closed compartments. The best position within a vehicle is under the driver or passenger seat. When placing it under a vehicle, position it on a flat part of the frame towards the edge of the vehicle with the LEDs facing the pavement.
5. Charging and battery life: Charge the tracker for at least 8 hours using the provided USB Type-C charging cable and AC adapter. The power LED will flash red while charging and turn solid red when fully charged. The battery life depends on the update frequency. Standard programming updates every 3 hours when not moving and once a minute when moving. 1-minute updates result in approximately 2.5 weeks of battery life, while 30-second updates result in approximately 14 days of battery life.
