To install the Holmes HAWF2021 Window Fan with Twin, follow these steps:
1. Carefully unpack all contents of the carton and make sure you have all the necessary parts.
2. Familiarize yourself with the built-in extenders on the fan. There is a 7-inch extender on the right side and an additional 4.25-inch extender that can be attached to the left side.
3. Keep your window screen in place, if possible.
4. Align the window fan horizontally in the window and position the built-in extender panel to the right.
5. Measure the opening of your window and match it with the installation guide provided in the manual.
6. Attach the extender panel(s) as needed. If your window is larger than 33.25 inches, additional extender panels may be required.
7. Set the fan in the window and pull out both clips on the right side. Pull out the built-in extender and lock it into place by pushing the clips down.
8. Carefully close the window onto the top of the fan, ensuring that the bottom edge of the window rests behind the top line of the fan housing to keep the fan in place.
9. If you have a slider window, make sure the control faces inward and position the 7-inch built-in extender on top. Adjust the upper extender for a snug fit if necessary.
10. Once the fan is securely installed, you can plug it into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
