To switch between forehead and ear mode on the LIFESMART AOJ-20B Touchless Thermometer, follow these steps:
1. Press and release the Measure/Mute-unmute button to power on the thermometer.
2. Use the toggle switch to choose the age classification (1: 3 months-6 years, 2: 6 years-12 years, 3: above 12 years).
3. For forehead mode, point the temperature probe at the center of the forehead, with a distance of 0-3 cm (0-1.18 inches). Press and release the Measure/Mute-unmute button to take the measurement.
4. For ear mode, press the Measure/Mute-unmute button to power on the thermometer. Take off the probe cover and fit the probe snuggly into the ear canal. Press and release the Measure/Mute-unmute button to take the measurement.
Please note that the forehead measurement is an active reading and the measured temperature can fluctuate up to 1 °F/0.5 °C from your actual body temperature. Make sure to clean the forehead area beforehand if it is covered with hair, sweat, or dirt. Also, ensure that the ear is clean and free from earwax or obstructions before taking an ear measurement.
