According to the user manual, it is recommended to clean the grease filters on the LIVINOX LCH-COPPER 90SS Hood at least once a month. Regular cleaning of the grease filters is important to improve the efficiency of the hood in eliminating heat and contaminated air in the kitchen. Heavy oil deposits on the filters can also pose a fire hazard.
To clean the aluminum grease filters, you can either wash them in the dishwasher or soak them in a degreasing agent for an hour. After cleaning, rinse off the filters and allow them to dry before re-installing them in the hood.
It is important to note that the charcoal filters, if included in the package, should also be replaced once a year or depending on the frequency of appliance usage. Clogged filters can restrict airflow and may cause the motor to overheat.
