To clean the air filters on the AMANA AMAP121AW-2 Portable Air Conditioner, please follow these steps:
1. Turn off the air conditioner and unplug it from the power source.
2. Locate the air filters. There are two filters - the lower air filter and the upper air filter.
3. To remove the lower air filter, pull it straight out from the back of the air conditioner.
4. To remove the upper air filter, remove the air intake cover by pulling the top of the cover away from the air conditioner and lifting the bottom tabs out of the slots on the air conditioner. Then, using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 screws holding the filter in place and pull the filter straight out.
5. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or debris from the filters. If the filters are very dirty, you can wash them in warm water with a mild detergent. Do not wash the filters in the dishwasher or use any chemical cleaners, as it may damage the filters.
6. After cleaning, air dry the filters completely before reinstalling them to ensure maximum efficiency.
7. Reinstall the lower and upper air filters by reversing the removal steps.
8. Turn on the air conditioner and check if the cooling performance has improved.
Regularly cleaning the air filters is important for maintaining the efficiency of the air conditioner and ensuring proper cooling. It is recommended to check the filters every 2 weeks and clean them as needed.
