Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions for installing the AMANA AMAP121AB-2 Portable Air Conditioner:
1. Check the location where the air conditioner will be installed. Make sure there is a grounded electrical outlet within 4.27 ft (130 cm) of where the power cord exits the air conditioner. Also, ensure there is free movement of air in the room to be cooled and enough clearance (at least 10 inches) from walls and furniture.
2. Remove the packaging materials gently. Remove the carton top and lift the air conditioner from the base pad. Remove any tape and glue residue from surfaces using a small amount of liquid dish soap and a damp cloth.
3. Determine the type of window opening you have. The air conditioner can be used with standard double-hung windows and vertical sliding windows.
4. For double-hung windows, measure the opening width (minimum 26 5/8 inches, maximum 52 inches) and the opening height (minimum 4 inches).
5. For vertical sliding windows, measure the opening width (minimum 4 inches) and the opening height (minimum 26 5/8 inches, maximum 52 inches).
6. Install the window slider panel. Extend the slider panel extension until it fills the window opening. If the window is too narrow, remove the slider panel extension and cut it to fit the window opening. Slide the slider panel extension back into the slider panel.
7. Assemble the vent hose. Insert the round connector of the vent hose into the exhaust port on the back of the air conditioner and turn it counterclockwise to lock into place. Position the air conditioner in the desired location.
8. Extend the vent hose enough to reach from the air conditioner to the window. Make sure there are no sharp bends or kinks in the hose.
9. Press the window connector end of the vent hose into the opening on the slider panel. It should clip into place.
10. If you are using the air conditioner for dehumidification only, you can attach a drain hose (not included) for water drainage into a floor drain. Remove the drain port retainer plug on the back of the air conditioner, insert the drain hose into the drain fitting, and insert the other end of the drain hose into a floor drain.
11. Plug the air conditioner into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
