To install the GV57 Micro Waterproof Vehicle Tracker, follow these steps:
1. Opening the Case:
- Insert the triangular-pry-opener into the gap of the case and push it up until the case is unsnapped.
- Note: The device is waterproof, so avoid disassembling it repeatedly.
2. Closing the Case:
- Place the cover back on the device and slide it until it snaps into place.
3. Installing a SIM Card:
- Open the case and ensure the device is not powered (unplug the 5-Pin cable and switch the internal battery to the OFF position).
- Slide the holder to open the SIM card holder.
- Insert the SIM card into the holder with the gold-colored contact area facing down. Align the cut mark.
- Close the SIM card holder and the case.
4. Installing the Internal Backup Battery:
- Before use, install the internal backup Li-ion battery as shown in Figure 7 of the manual.
5. Switching on the Backup Battery:
- To use the backup battery, ensure the switch is in the ON position. The switch and ON/OFF positions are shown in the manual.
- Note: The switch must be in the "OFF" position when shipped on an aircraft. The battery cannot be charged or discharged in this position.
- To reset the device, remove the external DC power, switch off the backup battery, then reconnect the external power supply and switch on the backup battery.
6. Power Connection:
- Connect the PWR (VCC, Red) and GND (Black) pins to the power source. The input voltage range for the device is from 8V to 32V, suitable for 12V/24V vehicles.
7. Ignition Detection:
- The IGN (White) pin is used for ignition detection.
- Connect it to the ignition switch or a non-permanent power source that is only available when the vehicle is running.
- The device can be configured to start transmitting information when the ignition is on and enter power-saving mode when the ignition is off.
8. Digital Input and Output:
- The device has one general-purpose digital input and one digital output.
- The digital input is a negative trigger, and the digital output is of open drain type with a maximum drain current of 150mA.
9. LED Status:
- The device has two status LEDs: CELL LED (Red) and GNSS LED (Blue).
- The LED status indicates the device's status, such as searching for GSM network or GNSS information.
