To install the MODINE HER Series HER125C3101 Unit Mounted Thermostat on your electric unit heater, please follow the instructions provided in the instruction manual.
1. Disconnect the power supply before making any wiring connections to prevent electrical shock and equipment damage.
2. Open the bottom panel of the unit and remove the wire leads from the thermostat or terminal block that are attached to a remote thermostat or on/off switch. Take note of the wiring diagram on the inside of the bottom panel.
3. Remove the hole plug in the 5/8" diameter hole nearest the left side of the unit and replace it with the plastic bushing included in the kit.
4. Run the capillary bulb and tubing through the bushing from the inside out. Locate the thermostat shaft through the adjacent 7/8" diameter hole from the inside out.
5. Hold the thermostat in place and slide the thermostat indicator plate over the thermostat shaft. Fasten it with the screws provided.
6. Push the control xxxx onto the thermostat shaft and secure it by tightening the set xxxx against the flat on the shaft.
7. Extend the capillary tube up the rear left side of the unit. Ensure that the surface of the unit is clean and affix the capillary tube to the unit using the tie wrap base and tie wrap included in the kit.
8. Fasten the thermostat wire leads to the control terminal block terminals according to the wiring diagram provided in the bottom panel.
9. Close the bottom panel.
Once the thermostat is installed, you can adjust it to the coolest setting and turn on the power to the unit. Adjust the thermostat until the unit begins operation and readjust it as required to maintain the desired room temperature.
