To measure voltage using the MASTECH MAS830 Digital Multimeter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the multimeter is set to the appropriate voltage range. Turn the rotary switch to the "V" or "DCV" position for DC voltage measurements or to the "V~" or "ACV" position for AC voltage measurements. Select the range that is closest to the expected voltage value.
2. Insert the black test lead into the COM (common) socket on the multimeter.
3. Insert the red test lead into the VΩmA socket on the multimeter.
4. Connect the black test lead to the common or ground point of the circuit you want to measure. This is usually the negative terminal or a known ground point.
5. Connect the red test lead to the point in the circuit where you want to measure the voltage. Ensure that the test leads are securely connected.
6. Read the voltage value displayed on the multimeter's LCD screen. Take note of the unit (V or mV) and the decimal point position to ensure accurate readings.
7. If necessary, switch to a different voltage range to get a more precise measurement. Adjust the range using the rotary switch.
8. After taking the measurement, disconnect the test leads from the circuit.
