To install the Emerson DL8000 Preset Controller, follow these steps:
1. Determine the location for the DL8000 based on the loading facility's design. The unit should be mounted approximately 1.14 to 1.27 meters above grade to the bottom of the DL8000 case.
2. Fabricate mounting fixtures for the DL8000. The enclosure can be bottom-mounted or rear-mounted, with bottom-mounting being preferable due to the weight of the device. Use four M10-1.5 x 15mm threaded bolts provided for mounting. The length of the bolts should be selected based on the thickness of the mounting panel used.
3. Route all conduit to the bottom of the unit and ensure there are no objects under the DL8000 or in front of the conduit for a distance of approximately 380mm.
4. Install the DL8000 on the mounting fixtures, ensuring that the cover hinges at the bottom side and opens down for access to the internal electronics. Use the provided bolts to secure the cover to the case, tightening them to 24 to 29 N-m.
5. Connect AC power to the terminal block on the front of the DL8000. The left-most entry is intended for AC power wiring. For 115 volt AC input, connect the line wire to HOT (L1) and the neutral wire to L2. For 230 volt AC input, connect one of the line wires to HOT (L1) and the other to L2. Keep AC wiring away from DC signal circuits to minimize noise.
6. Clean the mating surfaces on the cover and case, then swing the cover closed, taking care not to pinch any wires or fingers. Install all cover bolts provided in the hardware kit and cross-torque them to 24 to 29 N-m.
7. Apply power to start up the DL8000. The LCD display above the keypad should light up.
